Welcome Back to another edition of Buy a Thread, and thanks for reading. We use this platform to share exciting news, keep you updated with events happening at the store, and share quilt-related stories. I just want to remind you that this newsletter is for you, and if you’d like to see something in our newsletter, please let me know. In the meantime, I’ll think up a storm for good content!

Before we kicked off the quilting season this fall, we joined a few quilt shows. We attended the Onoway Quilt Show in late June. The Town was celebrating 100 years this year, there was a parade in the morning and many events and sights throughout the day including the Quilt Show.
In early September we attended the Fort Saskatchewan Quilt Show, located in the Fort of the city. They had quilts displayed in the rooms of the buildings, and the vendors were in the center of The Fort.
We decided to kick off the quilting season right this year by hosting a show-and-tell followed by a staycation. Please enjoy the pictures taken from the show-and-tell.

We concluded the celebrations with a staycation, eight ladies joined us for two days of sewing in our studio. They worked on their projects on Friday and after lunch on Saturday we began working on a quick coaster.

Well, the project was intended to be a quick coaster, but the ladies ended up passing pieces around to make bigger or smaller projects. Each one turned out differently but was still coordinated because they were the same colours. It was cool to see how everyone ended up different, hopefully, it was a good memory of the weekend.
Thank you to everyone who attended.

Our October will be a busy month as we are beginning our Young Quilters Class, we will be attending the Spruce Grove Quilt Show (October 13th and 14th, make sure you can make it!) and we will be hosting Gloria Scales as she teaches the Bargello Quilt class once again this year.

Later, in November, Gloria will also be teaching a Twisted Bargello Quilt class, if you are interested in the Twisted Bargello Class, we recommend taking the October Bargello Class beforehand.

Happy Halloween! We got into the spooky spirit with this awesome gnome Halloween print. Using a layer cake, we cut it into rectangles to make a braid effect for placemats. Of course, we had to quilt something extra cute into the larger squares.
We have many upcoming plans and are very excited to see what the future will bring us. Thanks for tagging along for the ride with us! That’s all for now, see you next time, and thanks for reading!
